Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient medicine that is practiced by inserting very thin, sterile needles into the skin. As a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), acupuncture has been practiced for thousands of years, and is based on the concept of correcting energy flow throughout the body to achieve balance. The acupuncture needles are inserted into specific points that are located along meridians or channels of the body. The needles stimulate the body's own healing capabilities, increase blood flow, reduce pain, and improve overall health and wellness.

Cupping

Cupping is the application of a cup to the body with vacuum suction. It feels similar to a massage, and is used to treat muscle pain by increasing circulation and flushing the tissues. Most people love the experience and immediately notice less pain.

Electric stimulation

Electrical stimulation (E-stim), which is applied to the needles by thin wires and alligator clamps, provides continuous stimulation to the acupuncture points. Research supports that low levels of current can help strengthen the analgesic effects of acupuncture.

Manual therapy

Manual therapy is a form of treatment which applies pressure to the soft tissues of the body such as the muscles. This pressure can help relax muscles, increase circulation, break up scar tissue, and ease pain in the soft tissues. Often times as a result, there will be a decrease in inflammation and an increase in range of motion.
